Transition Assistance Program (TAP) Workshop

Planning to Leave the Military Soon?

Here’s how the Airman and Family Readiness Center can help you make a smooth transition into the civilian sector!

· Pre-separation Counseling Briefing: Mandatory for all personnel leaving the military and a prerequisite to attending the TAP workshop. The briefing provides the service member information on the services and programs available to them. Offered twice a week. Call 294-4329 for an appointment.

· TAP Workshop: This 3 1/2 day workshop provides separating, retiring and DoD civilians and their spouse valuable job search information. Workshops are offered at least once a month.* (see below for more information)

· Career Fairs: Career Fairs provide an opportunity for service members and employers to meet informally. Service members can learn about prospective employers while employers have the opportunity to meet those interested in securing full-time or part-time employment, and internships. Career Fairs are held in the spring and fall each year.

· Resume Writing Workshop: The class is designed to provide information on preparing a professional resume. Also available are resume review/critique. Offered once a month.

· The Discovery Center offers a host of information which will assist job seekers in their job search:

¨ Library containing books related to finding employment.

¨ Computers are available to: prepare a resume, conduct research, apply for jobs, etc.

¨ Job Books are available with job listings. These books are updated weekly.

· One-on-one assistance available for all of your transition needs!

Hours:          Mondays, 1300 hours. Tuesday - Thursday, 0800 - 1630 hours.

Location:     Building 323 C, Room 206

Dress:          Civilian Business Casual

Eligibility:     Separating/retiring service members, DoD civilians and spouses may attend.
